Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain high‑performance, low‑latency network infrastructure across multiple data centers.

• Configure and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, multicast, VLAN, and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) routing and switching.

• Develop and maintain network automation scripts using Python and Bash to improve operational efficiency.

• Integrate and manage cloud networking components on AWS and GCP platforms, ensuring seamless hybrid‑cloud connectivity.

• Monitor network health using industry‑standard tools, proactively identify issues, and execute rapid remediation.

• Collaborate with stakeholders—including traders, software engineers, and security teams—to gather requirements and deliver network solutions that meet performance and compliance goals.

• Document network designs, configurations, and project outcomes, maintaining up‑to‑date technical documentation.

• Lead efforts to optimize latency, including fine‑tuning switch fabrics, router paths, and VPN security settings.

• Participate in on‑call rotation and provide Tier‑2/3 support for network incidents.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco and Arista networking equipment (L1/L2/L3 switching).

• Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, multicast, VLAN, and STP routing protocols.

• Proficiency in network automation using Python and Bash scripting.

• Experience with cloud networking on AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Solid knowledge of low‑latency network optimization techniques.

• Familiarity with Unix/Linux command line environments and network monitoring tools.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex network issues quickly.

• Effective stakeholder management and clear communication abilities.

• Ability to produce thorough project documentation.

Desired Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in network engineering.

• Demonstrated track record of delivering reliable, high‑performance network solutions in fast‑paced environments, preferably within financial services or trading firms.

• Hands‑on experience with VPN security and implementation.

Education

Formal educational qualifications are not a strict requirement for this role; however, a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is considered advantageous.
